Numbers for photographers,
without the black box.
Apertally is an independent UK photography utility and editorial platform. We turn established photographic relationships into practical calculators, then explain the assumptions and real-world limits behind each result.
Useful, transparent and accountable
Every Apertally tool begins with a specific field decision: how much storage a recording mode needs, what a lens will frame, or how an exposure changes with filtration. We publish the underlying relationship rather than asking readers to trust an unexplained number.
Calculator inputs are processed locally in the browser and are not submitted to an Apertally database. Cloudflare Web Analytics provides anonymous, aggregate information about visits and performance without advertising identifiers or cross-site tracking.
Our field guides are maintained as editorial resources. Commercial relationships do not alter calculator outputs, and retailer links are disclosed clearly. Material corrections and substantial updates are reflected in the page review date.
